SEC: Preview

The SEC conference should be a very competitive league this season. Look for 6-8 teams to make the field in March. Almost every team may have a shot at making the tournament.

Teams that will be in

Kentucky

Florida

The Gators will push Kentucky for the title this season. Would be very surprised if the winner of the conference comes from outside these two teams.

LSU

Both teams lost key performers from last year but have talented players on the roster. Look for these teams to be comfortably in in March

Alabama

Ole Miss

Mississippi State

South Carolina

Georgia

Alabama is the team to watch in this group. They have has some early injuries that they will have to overcome. Never underestimate a Frank Martin coached team. They finished 4th last year in conference but have only one starter returning. Ole Miss is another team that will be tough to beat all season

Long shots to be in

Missouri

Arkansas

Texas A&M

Vanderbilt

A couple of new coaches at Arkansas and Texas A&M will attempt to make the tourney. They fall short but are competitive. Missouri will just have too many teams to jump over in conference.

The SEC is likely to get 7 teams in the NCAA tourney. Fighting for those last spots will make watching conference play a lot of fun. This is the most competitive the league has been in years. So many quality coaches have been hired recently and this league should remain strong for years to come.
