St John’s word down Butler with defense to take an important game between two bubble teams.

Both teams shot the ball equally but the hustle plays went St John’s way for most of the night

St John’s defense frustrated the Bulldogs all night long.

Offensive rebounding provided more shot opportunities for the Red Storm

St John’s outscored Butler on points off of turnovers 23-4 aided by 11 steals

St John’s secured 13 offensive rebounds & turned them into 17 points

Points in the paint favored the Red Storm 30-20

St John’s was led by Glen Taylor with 17 points including 5 treys

Joel Soriano of St. John’s was dominate inside with 11 rebounds, a block and a steal

Pierre Brooks kept Butler in the game in first half and ended with 13 points

St John’s keeps their at-large chances alive. Still have some work to do.

Butler lost its 5th game in a row and barring a deep run in the BIG EAST Tournament, they will not make the NCAA tourney.
