CLEMSON– Beats Duke at home. Third win in a row for the Tigers. Their NET prior to the DUKE game was 92 but this win may move them into consideration range.
DAYTON– Defeats VCU at home by 14. Beating a main competitor in the A!) by double digits adds to an already solid resume. The Flyers are in top 4 seed range.
WISCONSIN– A 56-54 win at home over Maryland. Brad Davidson hits a game winning 3 with 10 seconds left. BIG 10 wins are always good for the resume.
VILLANOVA– Hangs on in OT to defeat DePaul 79-75. This allows Villanova to avoid a quad 2/3 loss on the resume. Nova is currently 16th overall seed in our seed list. This win will keep them in the 4 seed range overall.
OHIO STATE– A win over Nebraska does not really help the resume, but it is a relief after dropping four straight games and being tied for last in the conference.
LOUISVILLE– an overtime win on the road at Pittsburgh is better than the alternative for a resume. The Cardinals escaped with two close road victories in last two games.
LSU– another team that has won two close games recently. The Tigers win an OT game at Texas A&M and avoid a bad loss on their resume.
PITTSBURGH: A loss to Louisville in OT when a questionable call by an official erased a game tying basket. The ensuing foul and free throws sealed the loss for the Panthers who are fighting to move up the bubble and into the tournament. A win over Louisville would have been a big piece of their resume.
MISSOURI– Entering last night with a NET of 57 had the Tigers in consideration. Losing by 27 on road to Mississippi State hurts their hopes.
MID MAJOR GAMES
RICHMOND– Win at Davidson. The A10 is a solid conference and should get multiple bids. This win may move the Spiders ahead of VCU in teams from the conference being considered.
AKRON– leader of the Mid American conference defeats Northern Illinois on the road to move to 13-3. A current NET of 39 has the Zips in possible at large consideration should they not win the conference tourney.
