Purdue responds strongly win lopsided win over Rutgers

Purdue dominated wire to wire, shooting 59% and spreaded the scoring across multiple players.

Rutgers struggled with shooting 33% in the first half and never recovered.

Zach Edey scored 25 points but ended his streak of 10 straight double-doubles. Much of this was due to Edey only playing 13 minutes in the second half and just over 26 minutes overall.

Cam Heide had a career high 18 points including a perfect 7 for 7 shooting and 4 for 4 from the 3-point line.

Rutgers two season highest scorers, Jeremiah Williams and Clifford Amoruyi held to a combined 16 points.

What it means

Purdue easily remains at the top as the #1 overall seed in the tournament.

With a 90 Net and 14-12 overall record, Rutgers only postseason chances will be the NIT.
