Illinois led for much of the game, but Purdue found its outside game and pulled out the victory.

Purdue’s first lead came at the 10:03 mark on a Mason Gillis 3.

Purdue gave up a 6 point lead at the 4 minute mark and trailed by 2 only to outscore Illinois 13-5 down the stretch

Zach Edey got some key help from outside in the second half to erase the 6 point Illini lead at the half

Purdue was 8 for 10 from three point range in the 2nd half

Illinois outscored Purdue 40-32 on points in the paint

Purdue had 20 assists on 29 made FG’s

Zach Edey led the Boilers with 28 points and 8 rebounds

Fletcher Loyer scored 7 straight points late, Mason Gillis hit some big 3’s and Braden Smith hit a contested 3 for the dagger
