BIG WINS

TEXAS TECH– The Red Raiders have a great NET ranking but have been lacking big wins Well, they got a big win in defeated West Virginia 89-81. Texas Tech is on our 10 seed line and need a few more wins to move up.

TEXAS- Defeats TCU 62-61 on the road to keep their hopes alive. The Longhorns are not close to our bracket yet but have no bad losses. If they can take this win and bottle it, they will move into heavy consideration.

MARQUETTE– An 84-82 overtime win on the road at Xavier is good for the resume. The Golden Eagles look to move up the seed line as the season progresses.

LSU– The Tigers keep on winning, but this time by a score of 90-76. The important part of the win was the final margin. LSU had been losing large leads and winning close games. This type of win can do wonders for a team’s momentum

HOLDING SERVE

SETON HALL– The Pirates defeated DePaul at home 64-57 to keep pushing upward on the seed line. Seton Hall is a two seed for us at the time.

DAYTON The Flyers win on the road against Duquense 73-69 to maintain their spot in our bracket. The Flyers are on the three seed line and can surely move up with more wins.

PENN ST a 64-49 win over Indiana at home, preserves the five seed standing for the Nittany Lions. They are getting close to lock status after surviving a three game losing streak.

BAD BEATS

ARIZONA ST lost to Washington St 67-65 one game after a huge win over Arizona. Road losses are understandable in conference, but when you are on the cutline they can be problematic.

OKLAHOMA Another road conference loss, but the Sooners lost to a non tourney team in Kansas St by the score of 61-53. Oklahoma is in the 9/10 range and not yet in jeopardy of losing their spot in the field.

ARKANSAS– Losing home games is tough on tourney quality teams.. Arkansas is battling to get a single digit seed. A loss to South Carolina at home doesn’t help.

MID MAJOR GAMES

MERCER is 11-11 and will need to win their tourney to get into the dance. However, last night they beat at-large hopeful East Tennessee St 71-55. Sadly, mid major teams often need to run the table to be considered. At 15-4 overall the Buccaneers should be considered, but this was a quad 4 loss.

VERMONT Shows up again with another win. The Catamounts now are 16-6 on the season
