Game Results Feb 7-9
MARYLAND The Terps keep on winning. This time on the road vs Illinois. The 75-66 win may be enough to move the Terps up to the 2 seed line.
MICHIGAN– The Wolverines avenge an earlier loss to their rival from East Lansing 77-68. This win is huge for Michigan as they have taken on a few losses the last few weeks.
AUBURN– The Tigers keep adding big wins to their resume. This OT win over LSU 91-90 and look to possibly move to the 3 seed line this week
PURDUE– Won their 3rd in a row at Indiana 74-62. This win puts them 4 games above .500 which has been a mark for teams to reach to make the tournament. The quality of their wins moves them up to the 8/9 seed line.
OKLAHOMA– The Sooners needed a quality win and they got it over West Virginia 69-59. Oklahoma is still on the bubble and a likely 10/11 seed in our bracket. This win will keep them in for a short while, but wins are needed.
SETON HALL– The Pirates win 70-64 on the road at Villanova. This is a seed line win or a maintain a current seed line win. Seton Hall is a solid 3 seed and really should be considered for a 2 seed.
DUKE The Blue Devils needed a big comeback and two buzzer beaters to survive at North Carolina 98-96 in OT. The win keeps Duke on the 2 seed line and they avoided a quad 2 loss.
GONZAGA– The Hoyas solidify their 1 seed with a big win on the road at St. Mary’s 90-60.
ARIZONA ST– The Sun Devils are making a push to get into the tourney. Defeating fellow bubble team USC 65-61 is just the way to do it. ASU will likely move into the bracket on Tuesday
FLORIDA ST– Defeats Miami Fla 99-81 to stay on track for a top seed. Big win considering they turn around and play Duke on the road on Monday night.
KENTUCKY– The Wildcats defeat Tennessee on the road. Kentucky is seeking wins to move into the top 4 seeds.
DAYTON– The Flyers got good news with a 2 seed in the bracket reveal. Their job now is to keep winning. They did that on Saturday 71-65 over St Louis.
TEXAS TECH The Red Raiders are loved by the metrics. Road wins over Texas 62-57 help with the quality of their resume. Texas Tech is in the 6-8 seed range.
LOUISVILLE The Cardinals also are a 2 seed by the committee reveal. They beat a fellow bracket team in Virginia 80-73 to hold serve.
PENN ST The Nittany Lions defeat Minnesota 83-77 to add to their solid season. A few more wins will lock them into the bracket. For now the only drawback for them is their non conference SOS.
COLORADO– The Buffaloes defeat Stanford 81-74 on Saturday. With a NET of 16 Colorado looks to be in competition for a top 4 seed.
XAVIER– The Musketeers have done a lot of work in the last two weeks to move into the bracket. Defeating Providence, a bubble team themselves, moves Xavier off the cutline for now.
FLORIDA Lost to Ole Miss 68-51. The Gators are still in but very close to the cutline.
ARKANSAS Tough loss on the road to Missouri 83-79. The Razorbacks are without Isiah Joe and will need to find a way to win without him to make the tournament.
MEMPHIS– The Tigers overall record of 17-6 is decent, their resume is not. A loss at home to South Florida by a score of 75-73 puts them just on the outside of the bracket at this time. They have some tough work ahead of them.
ARIZONA– Loses at home to UCLA 65-52. The Wildcats have a great NET of 10 after the loss, but there is not much to their resume. They are a hard team to gauge. Looking like a 6/7 seed despite the high NET
OREGON– The Ducks were a 4 seed at the reveal Saturday morning. They go on the road at Oregon St and lose 63-53. They look like that loss may cost them a seed line.
MID MAJOR GAMES
LITTLE ROCK– Keeps on winning. This time a 90-87 win over a solid Arkansas St team. Watch them this spring.
COLGATE– They win 67-50 over Navy and win again on Monday.
NORTHERN IOWA– Move to 20-3 and 37 in the NET with a 83-73 win over Drake. They are a possible at large berth if needed.
FURMAN– The Palladins keep on winning. They are 20-5 after beating Western Carolina on the road. Not sure they have enough for an at-large berth but are a team on the rise.
EAST TENNESSEE ST– now up to 44 in the NET after a 73-60 win over an improving Mercer ball club. This team also could gain an at large berth if they lose in conference tournament.
