Game Results Feb 21-23
KANSAS The Jayhawks won the battle of the top seeds by winning at Baylor 64-61. Both of these teams are solid 1 seed line teams.
BYU– The Cougars locked in their spot in the NCAA tournament with a huge win over Gonzaga 91-76. BYU is a likely 6 or 7 seed.
KENTUCKY The Wildcats continue to win games. Defeating Florida 65-59 adds to their resume. Kentucky is a 4 seed for us at the moment and are trending upward.
OREGON– The Ducks went on the road and defeated Arizona 73-72. Oregon adds a quad 1 win and in is the discussion for either a 3 or 4 seed.
INDIANA– The Hoosiers are on the bubble. Nothing is better than gettin a quad 1 win over a solid team at this point of the season. Indiana beat Penn St 68-60 to move away from the cutline.
VILLANOVA– gets a road win at Xavier 64-55 and is making a huge push for being on the 2 seed line.
PROVIDENCE The Friars picked up their 7th quad 1 win by defeating Marquette 84-72. Providence needs as many wins as possible to offset a really poor non conference performance. They have moved in our field.
MEMPHIS– The Tigers needed something positive and got it by beating Houston 60-59. The win alone is not enough to get them in our field but they have moved a lot closer with the win.
CREIGHTON– The Blue Jays are pushing for a 2 seed at the time. A huge win over Butler 81-51 helps the argument.
LSU- The Tigers go on the road and beat bubble team South Carolina. A nice win that will likely put the Tigers on our 7 seed line.
CINCINNATI– The Bearcats are in our first four out. This win over Wichita St 67-64 moves them closer to the field.
VIRGINIA– The Cavaliers are quietly piling up the wins. Winning on the road at Pittsburgh keeps Virginia moving up the seed line.
AUBURN– Defeats Tennessee 73-66. The Tigers have seen their NET ranking fall some in the past few weeks. A 5 seed is likely at this time.
DAYTON– The Flyers keep winning. Beating Duquesne 80-70 keeps them solidly on the 2 seed line.
MICHIGAN Winning at Mackey Arena is very difficulty. Michigan did so with ease 71-63. Can the Wolverines move up the seed list. We believe so and have them in consideration for a 5/6/7 seed placing
FLORIDA ST The Seminoles hold off a desperate NC State team 67-61 on the road. Florida St may be as high as a 2 seed.
LOUISVILLE The Cardinals have a great NET of 8and need wins to stay on the 2 seed line. They have overcome a bad week of play
TEXAS TECH– The Red Raiders win on the road 87-53. Texas Tech in an interesting team. Good NET not many wins on the resume. They are likely a 7/8 seed for us
ARIZONA ST– The Sun Devils are hot. They defeat Oregon St 74-73 to keep pushing up the seed line.
WISCONSIN– A nice win over Rutgers 79-71 keeps the Badgers solidly on the 8 seed line.
WEST VIRGINIA Lost at TCU 67-60. The Mountaineers continue to struggle and find themselves a likely 5 seed next week.
MISSISSIPPI STATE Losing on the road to Texas A&M 87-75 is damaging to their bubble hopes.
COLORADO– The Buffaloes are fighting to improve their seed. Losing at home to UCLA does not help. The Bruins are a hot team, but Colorado had hopes of a top 4 seed.
OKLAHOMA– The Sooners resume is not as strong as people think. Losing on the road to Oklahoma St only hurts. They are approaching the cut line of our bracket.
RHODE ISLAND– loses to Davidson 77-75. Not a horrible loss but a loss that hurts the seed potential of the Rams.
RICHMOND The Spiders are right on our cutline and are likely out of our next bracket with the loss on the road to a decent St Bonaventure squad. One game usually does not move the needle much, but Richmond too close to absorb many losses.
SAN DIEGO ST– The Aztecs are likely to remain on the 1 seed line despite a loss to UNLV 66-63. The quad 3 loss does make their time on the top seed line tenuous.
GEORGETOWN – Are the Hoyas in or out. After a big win at Butler, the Hoyas have now lost two in a row. Losing to DePaul 74-68 pushes them back out of our bracket.
USC– Sunday night loss at Utah moves the Trojans close to the cutline.
MID MAJOR GAMES
LOUISIANA TECH– Goes on the road and defeats North Texas. These two teams are battling for the top of the conference.
NORTHERN IOWA– After a tough week, the Panthers get a win over Southern Illinois. An at large berth chances are extremely thin at the moment.
COLGATE– Gets another win and moves to 22-7
