BIG WINS

AUBURN– The Tigers earn a 79-76 overtime win on the road at Arkansas. Auburn has won several big games in a row. They are a 5 seed right now but moving up fast

OHIO STATE- The Buckeyes win on the road at Michigan 61-58. A nice quad 1 win added to their resume keeps Ohio St safely in the 7 seed range.

PENN ST– The Nittany Lions have won at Michigan St and Michigan this season and with the win over the Spartans last night is our top 6 seed line team. Their resume is more likely a 5 seed and could even punch the top 4 if they continue this success.

XAVIER– The Musketeers won at DePaul 67-59 to stay on our field this week. Xavier still needs to win more games than they lose.

HOLDING SERVE

KENTUCKY– The Wildcats hold on to beat a solid Mississippi St team 80-72 at home. Kentucky needs win like this to discount their bad loss to Evansville.

TEXAS TECH defeat fellow bracket team Oklahoma 69-61 to stay in our field on the 9 seed line. They have opportunities to pad their resume and the fact that they have no bad losses will help them.

MARYLAND winning 56-51 at home over Rutgers keeps Maryland on the upward path. They are currently a 3 seed and can be considered for an even higher seed. The Terps are the highest BIG 10 team on our seed list.

BAD BEATS

ALABAMA A bubble team losing at home is rough. Losing to another bubble team is really rough. Losing 69-68 is really really tough. Tennessee gets a road win to boost their resume while Alabama sees their hopes fading at 12-10 overall.

VIRGINIA TECH The Hokies lose on the road to Georgia Tech by the score of 76-57. Not a good look for a team way down our consideration list

MID MAJOR GAMES

COLORADO ST is quietly building a decent record at 16-8. They win on the road at 80-70. The Rams have a NET of 101 and a resume that is not very strong, but watch for them to be a tough out in their conference tourney

BALL ST The Mid-American conference tournament will be a fun one to watch. A lot of solid teams fighting for the auto bid. Ball St goes on the road to defeat Kent St (16-6) 62=54 to improve their record to 13-9. Going to be a fun time in Cleveland in March
